At Crossroads we work towards an economically healthy North Limburg region and a beautiful commuting environment for our residents, employees, students and tourists. Crossroads is convinced that business, government and education can best tackle major social issues and challenges together. Because they do not always succeed in solving them in their own quiver.
That's why Crossroads is making sure that that collaboration comes about. We do that by working toward two goals:
- Speaking the languages of business, government and education.
- Working together on topical themes such as sustainability and circularity, human capital, health and knowledge sharing & innovation.
- Seek crossovers between those domains, themes and sectors.
Every collaboration, after all, starts with a challenge, question or idea. Maybe you're just looking for that one connection to become successful. Crossroads connects, strengthens and accelerates by facilitating connections to regional projects, initiatives or networks. This is how we work together to strengthen the North Limburg economy and the Healthiest Region.
Role in sustainable entrepreneurship in Limburg
One of the goals of Crossroads Limburg is 'Future-proof entrepreneurship' in which we increase innovation power and help organizations become more sustainable. We aim for business, government and education to tackle major social issues and challenges together. Because it is not always possible to solve them on your own. Alone you are faster, but together you can come up with even more sustainable solutions. That is our role in sustainable business!
Relationships with the 4 transitions
.
Crossroads Limburg works on four themes. These largely overlap with the four transitions that LIOF is highlighting.
- Sustainability and circularity: The raw materials the earth has to offer will run out at some point. So, as a society, we cannot continue to draw from them forever. Therefore, it is necessary for companies to become more sustainable, more circular and (partially) generate their own energy.
- Human Capital: There is a tightness in the labor market that is only expected to get worse. Although there is a lot of talent living, studying or working in the region, it appears that much talent is flowing away to other regions or remains unused and there is an unfamiliarity with the companies that are there and the challenges that are there.
- Health: The demand for care is high and is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. Healthcare will not be able to handle this alone. That is why we focus on innovations within healthcare, strengthening the focus by companies on the health of their employees and in fulfilling leisure needs by the leisure sector.
- Health: The demand for healthcare is high and is expected to continue to grow in the coming years.
- The world around us is changing so rapidly that it is difficult to keep up with the content. While just that content knowledge can contribute to a business transition. It is important that people from companies come together and learn from each other and innovate together in the "frontiers" of markets.
So circularity and health are themes that correspond one-to-one with shiftLimburg's transitions. For us, energy is part of Sustainability and circularity. Finally digitalization, it is not explicitly mentioned, but we see this as a development that is important for each theme.
