On Tuesday, September 29, the closing event was The Grande Finale of the second round of BL.INC at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo. The jury declared startup S+dB as the winner. Startup Sudryso received the most votes from the public.
BL.INC is the acceleration program for entrepreneurs who want to innovate in the field of healthy and safe food, agriculture or horticulture, or biocircular economy. For three months they received intensive guidance to further shape and sharpen their business.
Saskia Goetgeluk, director of Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo: "By discussing product and business strategies in a group, you are confronted with your strengths and weaknesses. The group becomes your trusted confidants who help you make good choices. You are part of the Brightlands network and warm introductions to the right people and organizations are worth their weight in gold.
Pitches
During the finals, the startups pitch their progress to a jury, which consisted of Jos Nelissen, owner at Nelissen Oirlo Holding, and Roel van Summeren, Digital Farming at BASF Vegetable Seeds. The jury judged the innovative startups on entrepreneurship and economic feasibility of the ideas. The audience winner was announced by Saskia Goetgeluk.
S+dB
Jury winner S+dB developed a seed-embedding technology for the seed industry focusing on grass seeds and vegetable seeds. The jury felt that this startup had the best chance of coming up with a good and viable concept. "S+dB is already far along in the technological development of the product, they create a clear value for a growing market with their innovation, and they do the development of their product together with their customers, so they have and keep a good feeling with the market," said jury chairman Jos Nelissen.
Sudryso
The audience award went to Sudryso. This startup focuses on developing healthy food, using microwave technology, as well as design and manufacture of necessary equipment.
Startups
The second round of BL.INC started in July with seven innovative startups: besides S+dB and Sudryso, these were BioMosae, Innoveins Seed Solutions, Instant Drinks & Specialties, Piglets Treatment System and Blockheating. All participants are active in the three themes of Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo and want to contribute with their innovation to a green and sustainable world.
