Happy New Year! We have only recently looked back on an eventful year in 2020 in which a surprising number of wonderful initiatives were realised in the Limburg agrofood sector. Now the gaze is already focused on the future, as evidenced by the activity of organizations, companies and entrepreneurs around us. The Kiempunt agenda is rapidly filling up with interesting webinars and online meetings for the coming period. Delegate Hubert Mackus is also focusing on the new year. In the letter below he shares his first plans for 2021:
First of all, I wish you good luck and above all health in this new year. The Netherlands is looking back on an unprecedentedly eventful year. The coronavirus had and has an enormous impact on our lives. In the Netherlands, and certainly in Limburg, we face great challenges for our health, our loved ones, in healthcare and in the economy. At the beginning of this new year I am optimistic: in 2021 we will be looking ahead again.
That certainly also applies to the development of the Agriculture & Agrofood sector in Limburg. In 2020 we wrote a policy framework with an ambitious vision for the future in consultation with the field of work from the Province. We are in the starting blocks to discuss this image with you in more detail through regional meetings in 2021. We want to discuss how we can strengthen each other towards a future in which economic prosperity and social profit in our agricultural region go hand in hand. These regional meetings are still on hold due to the coronavirus, but we will start them in February at the latest and follow up afterwards.
In 2021, the year that is still new, we will take steps in agricultural entrepreneurship in a fair market and within the preconditions that social changes and issues entail. Together we will get further! In short, Agrofood Limburg Vitaal Vooruit.
More information about the regional meetings will be available on Kiempunt in January 2021.
