When you think of microwave food, you don't immediately think of the most healthy dishes. Many people will associate it with ready-made meals, which are often found to be too salty or fatty. Yet the Sudryso Group in Heijen receives a grant of 50 thousand euros for the development of the 'Mega Magnetron'. This device is designed to make healthy products with a high nutritional value and no additives. And that with the residual streams from farmers and growers.

Sudryso, a company just a month old, has big plans for developing healthy food. "The products contain 85 percent of the original ingredients and no additives. They are immediately preserved and therefore have a long shelf life. For this, new process recipes are developed and existing recipes and food processing machines are refined," says Wilbert Linders of Sudryso.

Rest streams

The € 50,000 is intended for the further development of the project. The residual streams that arise at the farmers and growers can soon be processed with the Mega Magnetron into a storable product. The device makes chips, popcorn and powder from vegetables, fruit, meat, fish or dairy.

Not only the grant helps the company move forward. Sudryso is also a participant in the incubation and acceleration program BL.INC at Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo. Currently this program is in its second round, in which scale-ups are supported for three months to achieve their goals in the field of healthy and safe food, agriculture or horticulture (future farming) or biocircular economy.

Innovation fund

The grant of 50 thousand euros Sudryso receives from the Innovation Fund. Annually, the eight municipalities of North Limburg contribute to this fund, which stimulates innovation of SMEs in the region. Councilwoman Janine van Hulsteijn of the municipality of Gennep is pleased with the subsidy for Sudryso: "The development of the Mega Microwave means more employment, collaboration with education and sharing knowledge in the food industry. Sudryso will work together with another local entrepreneur and the educational institutions Fontys, HAS and Maastricht University. It also stimulates awareness of social issues such as sustainability. I am proud of a development like this in our municipality."
