Apple, pear and cherry grower Huids looked for ways to market the 10 to 20 percent of fruit that is unsuitable for sale and oriented himself abroad. For example, in Austria apple wine is popular, in Britain and France apple cider. HAS students Geena Basten, Sjors Heil and Janina Panning came into contact with Huids through LIOF and investigated what had the most potential. Given the increasing popularity of apple cider in the Netherlands, a concept was developed on this product.
Testing on campsites with the e-cargo bike
.The concept was then tested with the target group at various campsites in the Valkenburg region. The Maastricht Bereikbaar e-cargo bike was used to visit the campsites with the barrel of apple cider and attracted a lot of attention.
On Sunday, July 14, the apple cider was presented at the regional market of Huids itself.
