Stroop factory Canisius Henssen BV from Schinnen wants to make more use of regional organic products. Therefore they are looking for arable farmers who are interested in a cooperation.
Cooperation with Limburg organic products
The cultivation of organic sugar beets is (almost) non-existent in Limburg. Therefore, the syrup factory is forced to fill the ingredients of organic syrup (Rinse-Appel, Pear-Appel and Beets) with non-Limburg products. But the syrup factory wants to change this: there is a desire to source products regionally.
The request of Canisius could mean the start of a renewed organic beet cultivation in Limburg. Arable farmers who are interested in this can register via info@biologischlimburg.com. Biological Limburg will then organize a meeting.
