In cooperation with Waterschap Limburg, farmers Marc and Thieu Corsten and Thieu Bongers from Kelpen-Oler have created two Bokashi fermentation piles of grass clippings.
With the Japanese 'Bokashi' fermentation process, the farmers make an optimal soil enhancer that is good for soil life and structure. Marc and Thieu Corsten are organic arable farmers who see Bokashi as a long-term investment that is good for soil life. That the farmers have started this process is a win-win situation for both the farmers and Water Board Limburg. The grass clippings from the Tungelroyse brook will not stay behind. By using Bokashi the organic matter (OS) of the sandy soils is improved, water can infiltrate better and the soil can hold water longer.
