It is once again possible to submit applications for the Short Chains Marketing and Big Data knowledge programs of LIOF/ LimburgAgrofood in collaboration with the HAS. The knowledge programs are meant for entrepreneurs who want to learn more about short chains or big data in a short period of time so they can apply it in their own company, with the support of students from the HAS.
First you follow a number of master classes on sub-topics, then 2 to 3 graduates of various courses of the HAS will work with your specific entrepreneurial question, under the guidance of lecturers. The entrepreneurs who are currently going through a knowledge program are enthusiastic; by sharing knowledge / experiences and the fresh perspective of students they make concrete steps faster.
Short Chain Marketing Expedition
Any entrepreneur in agriculture or horticulture wants more control over the chain? Would you like to strengthen your position in the chain, grab more margin and therefore be closer to the consumer? But do you not know how? Then this program is for you. Together with students, teachers and professors of HAS University of Applied Sciences in Venlo you will develop and realize your own short chain initiative. The business case is developed by final-year students under the guidance of lecturers.
The start is in September 2019 with four master classes, where you will hear the latest insights, research and developments in this field. You will also bring in your own case study, which will be analyzed and discussed in each session. Topics include: Know your consumer, the value proposition, Food & Business marketing and launching your product.
Big Data, new business
Educators in agriculture and horticulture use data to optimize cultivation even further, companies in food retail and foodservice use data to predict demand. And consumers, in turn, are increasingly basing purchasing decisions on data about origin, sustainability, health and price. This data fication of the entire food chain is leading to new connections in the chain, more efficient and sustainable production processes (smart farming), but also entirely new business models and partnerships based on innovative data platforms (data hubs, e-commerce, smart logistics).
In addition to this, the food retail and foodservice sectors are using data to predict demand for food.
Are you primarily a producer and do you wonder what your position will be in this data world? What new business models are emerging and what it could contribute to your business? If you have an idea or an existing initiative around Big Data and want to bring it to a successful conclusion, then this course is perfect for you.
It starts in early September with four master classes, followed by the development of your own business case/initiative with the help of students and experts from the HAS. If you want to participate in one of these expeditions, please submit an application for the knowledge track as soon as possible. There is room for at least 5 companies that can make use of the subsidy scheme of LimburgAgrofood for this knowledge path and the entrepreneurs will be assessed on their participation. You will attend 4 times a master class from 16.00-20.00 hours. In addition, some time is requested for preparation of the masterclasses. And of course you think along when the students develop your business plan and make a start with the implementation. The expedition is co-financed by LIOF from the program Limburg-Agrofood, so your own contribution is limited to € 2500, - of the total cost of € 10.000, - (excluding VAT). The master classes will take place at HAS University of Applied Sciences in Venlo. The elaboration of the business case will partly take place at your own company and at HAS.
