Odd.Bot, in collaboration with Delft University of Technology, Wageningen University and Kubota, is launching a groundbreaking autonomous weed whacker. This advanced robot offers a sustainable alternative to chemical pesticides and manual weed control by autonomously scanning crops and removing weeds.

Thijs Geerse, owner of We Grow Organic, had the honor of commissioning one of the first Maverick robots. "The Odd.Bot weeding robot offers a sustainable alternative to manual weeding, which is becoming increasingly costly and labor-intensive," Geerse said. "The robot works autonomously, day and night, which significantly increases our efficiency. Remarkably, the robot recognizes and removes young and small weeds even better than human weeders. Where other systems quickly cost several tons, this solution is within reach for any professional grower. This makes sustainable weed control accessible to a broad group of growers."

AI and precision cameras

The Maverick is equipped with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and precision cameras, allowing it to remove more than 240,000 weeds per acre with 2-millimeter precision both day and night. This innovation comes at a crucial time, as regulations worldwide force farmers to shift to more sustainable farming practices.

Growing demand
