THEME 2023 PLANTS + HUMAN >>> HEALTH
Dutch horticulture has a number of challenges for its own future when it comes to innovation. However, she is also an important part for a healthy future. Be it healthier food or a healthier living environment. Both lead to greater health and are essential for the future. This edition of the Innovation Prize therefore focuses on the contribution, in whatever form, to health:
- New horticultural products (plant species, varieties, cultivation methods, etc.) that add when it comes to health.
- Methods and Technologies to distill "health" from plants, making them the green pharmacy.
- Solutions and concepts to encourage people toward more plant-based consumption.
- Solutions and concepts to activate people to use more plants for a more livable living and working environment.
- Innovations that create additional value linked to health and livability in the chain of plants (bulbs, trees, flowers, plants, vegetables or fruit).
- Green in city & living room for oxygen & well-being.
To respond to these challenges, it is essential for horticulture as a supplier of the "plant" to cooperate with other sectors such as healthcare, food, landscaping, high-tech, etc. (cross-sectoral innovations).
