Embloom provides a user-friendly and effective e-health platform through which it helps improve the lives of millions of people. The headquarters of Embloom is in Maastricht, the Netherlands. In addition, the company has an office in Bonn, Germany. LIOF was at the start of this company. It is now time to continue on its own feet.
Marco Essed, Managing Director, tells:
"We offer a unique e-health platform to support the diagnosis and treatment of mental and physical symptoms. This includes digital questionnaires, patient education videos and treatment programs. Users can also use the platform to make secure video calls and chat."
Embloom focuses mainly on mental health care and general practitioner care. Marco: "In addition, for several years now we have had an increasingly large offering for specialist medical and paramedical care."
Now it is time for the next phase
Marco: "Recently I bought out LIOF and our other shareholders. This has brought our collaboration to an end. We have reached a stable (growth) phase in recent years. We are financially healthy and we have a nice team of 35 people." Ingrid adds, "Embloom has a nice turnover level and is working hard on internationalization. Time to stand on our own two feet."
Embloom now supports some 2500 healthcare organizations, mainly in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In total, 250,000 patients a year use Embloom's e-health solutions.
More countries, more types of care
Marco looks forward with confidence: "We still have plenty of ambitions. In the Netherlands and Belgium, we want to further expand our offering for mental healthcare, both for adults and for children and adolescents. In addition, for a number of years now we have been focusing on medical-specialist and paramedical care. We hope to be able to grow even further in these sectors."
"Developing cool app? I can't wait!"
"Developing cool app? I can't wait!"
Since this year, Embloom is also a partner within a large project around game addiction in children in Germany. "We get to develop incredibly cool apps in collaboration with various healthcare providers, universities and health insurers. Both content-wise and function-wise a wonderful challenge that we are really looking forward to."
Finally, does Marco have any tips for other entrepreneurs?
"Without LIOF our company would never have got off the ground. Certainly in the beginning we went through some difficult times. Then it's great to have a partner who supports you through thick and thin. When it was time to part, we did not engage in any hard bargaining. We always treated each other with trust and respect."
