Caroz is a logistics control tower. In other words, Caroz organizes and manages logistics for its customers. The tenacious experts do this with smart TMS software through the head office in Venlo. In addition, Caroz has branches in Rotterdam, Hilversum and five offices in China. How important is the digitization of the world to Caroz? And what is it doing to become a more sustainable and smarter business?
Sabine Klesman, Manager Business Development at Caroz, says: "As an independent fourth party logistics provider (4PL) we offer the most advanced control tower and TMS software. With this we help our customers to do business faster, better and more transparently. But also more flexible, so they can better respond to changing demand while continuing to innovate."
Resourceful friends
Resourceful friends
The company is full of smart IT experts and logistics specialists. They go hand in hand with the dynamic world of logistics. The company's core values make it immediately clear that humanity comes first. Sabine, laughing: "Indeed, we have translated our core values into the 4Vs: friendship, resourcefulness, connection and perseverance. Once we go into business for our clients, we are really there. Our clients notice that. That's how we make a real difference."
Caroz coordinates goods flows for its customers by offering added value and connecting to its customers' processes. Sabine: "We realized the very first neutral control tower in the Netherlands. I'm proud of that and it makes us unique. We now have ten years of experience in building and expanding the control tower.
Sabine explains what a control tower actually is. "THE control tower is a combination of processes, people and systems. THE control tower offers all three of these components to coordinate the logistics flow for the customer." In addition, Caroz offers THE TMS (transport management software). "This is our control tower software. On the one hand, THE control tower uses this software. But customers, or shippers in this case, can also use it separately if they choose a TMS system."
"Control tower or TMS: a fundamental strategic choice."
... build it yourself or have it built
."Do shippers opt for THE TMS? Then they build their own control tower with their own people and processes. So the big difference is: who builds the control tower. The shipper himself? Or do they use logistics experts? A fundamental strategic choice."
Flawless and carefree
Sabine emphasizes that a control tower provides added value to shippers and customers' daily processes. "A big advantage," Sabine emphasizes. "We go beyond arranging a truck from A to B. We look at the complete supply chain of our customers. Instead of micro-managing, we collect data that allows us to zoom out and explore with the customer where we can improve the process. In this way, we create tactical and strategic steering information for our customers. So they can enjoy flawless and worry-free transportation management.
Valuable player
Bert Roona, foreign investment developer at LIOF, is enthusiastic about Caroz' work and philosophy. "Digitalization is one of the spearheads of LIOF. With our funds and programs we want to contribute to the current social challenges. Whereby smart, sustainable and healthy entrepreneurship is essential. Caroz customers also want to move faster, reduce costs, build loyalty and be ready for the future. Caroz helps with this. A valuable player in our current entrepreneurial world.
Lean and (not) mean
Sabine Klesman adds: "Digitalization is enormously important to us. With a view to operational excellence for our customers, but also internally. We want to be lean and therefore scalability is crucial. Digitization certainly contributes to that."
"We are short on the ball, that is how we can make the difference."
From the first to the last kilometer
Caroz provides global logistics. Sabine explains how they optimize this from the first to the last kilometer: "We bring all parties together so we can combine and supplement data. This input is very valuable and the first step towards identifying opportunities for optimization. We can also make a difference with our infrastructure in China. By being on the ball and ensuring that the process runs smoothly. Our offices work on the same system, so we always have direct information for our customers here in Europe."
Keep it small, that footprint
Caroz is a sustainable and smart entrepreneur. Does she have any tips for other entrepreneurs to follow this example? Sabine: "Long-term cooperation is key. Ultimately, we need to work together to make the supply chain fit together. Any noise on the line causes disruptions. Do we get this right with our customers and partners? Then together with our customers we can make huge strides in reducing the footprint. "
Are you ready for this? Caroz - and LIOF - certainly are!
