Food Waste Challenge 2024

Item date:

08 April

Event location: Brightlands Greenport Campus Venlo

10:00 - 12:00

Food waste in the hospitality industry: it seems almost inevitable. Every hospitality entrepreneur sees half-empty plates returned to the kitchen every day. And not because the dish does not taste good, but because the customer, for whatever reason, does not eat everything. But you can't control this, can you? And if I do this, will I get something out of it? To both questions the answer is a resounding YES!

Food Waste Challenge

Did you know that every euro invested in combating food waste yields about €10 to €14? But what does it mean concretely for you? And how do you apply it in your business? That's what the Food Waste Challenge is for. A challenge that LIOF is organizing together with Wastewatchers for the Limburg hospitality industry entrepreneurs.

.

In 2023, the first Food Waste Challenge was held. This yielded an average saving per participant of €10,000.

The measurements you submit to Wastewatchers. During the final event you will get to see your total results and Wastewatchers will give you practical information about what else you can do based on your results. And you will hear how your fellow participants fared and what the overall results are for the whole group.

This event will take place on June 3.

.

For whom is the challenge?

This challenge is designed specifically for Limburg plate service restaurants and therefore not for caterers and it is intended for owners together with the chef or just the chef.
