As of today, Tuesday, October 27, registration is open for already the third edition of the Farmers Accelerator. The Farmers Accelerator is an initiative of The New Farmers Family and the innovation program for Dutch farmers who want to do things differently. In nine months' time, fifteen farmers will be looking for innovation opportunities within their businesses. Where is the financial scope? What do they want to change? And who can help them? In this entrepreneurial program the fifteen farmers are given every opportunity to put together their own 'new farming family'. Together they will develop their business idea into a new earnings model.
The New Farmer's Family
.In these times of a global pandemic, ongoing farmer protests, and nitrogen debates, the call for change in the Dutch farming landscape is getting louder. The New Farmer Family brings farmers and non-farmers together, setting up a national network of agricultural change-makers. The goal is to work together to come up with smart solutions for a sustainable agricultural future. The New Farmer Family is an initiative of Food Hub and is supported by DOEN Foundation.
Current batch
Beginning 2020, the second batch of Farmer Accelerators started. Fourteen agricultural entrepreneurs went from a dream, wish or idea to a concrete business model in nine months. Despite the corona crisis that threw a spanner in the works (physical meetings were forced to be held online), the participants are well on their way with their plans. They receive guidance from experts and are surrounded by 'family members' from The New Farmers' Family to help them along. On Thursday, December 10, the farmers will pitch their plans during the third Farmer Family Day. Here you can read more about the participants of 2020.
The program for 2021
.Do you want to participate? Registration for the third edition of the Farmers Accelerator is now open! The Farmers Accelerator will start in March 2021 and run until the fall. There is room for fifteen farmers and registration is open through Tuesday, January 11, 2021, 9 a.m.
The program consists of master classes, field trips, online lectures, and a robust coaching program. The organization aims to have as much of the program as possible take place offline. If corona measures do not allow, the program will continue online. This year has proven to be just as beneficial for the participants.
More information, such as the dates of the program days, can be found on the The New Farmer's Family website. To register, visit this page.
