Province Limburg recently put two companies in the spotlight that focus on regional products: De IJsvogel in Arcen that makes liqueurs from fruit and vegetables from the region and restaurant Gerardushoeve in Epen, where 95% of the menu consists of regional products.
The Province of Limburg sees regional products as an important tourist attraction and a strengthening factor for the Burgundian image of Limburg.
Also parties such as La Saison Culinaire, FoodLab Limburg and VVV (Tourist Office) recognize the importance of typical products for the region in order to position a region for tourism.
