Pre-announcement: the Netherlands will receive €52.4 million from the Economic Recovery Fund for 2021 and 2022 for investments in sustainability in agriculture.

Agricultural businesses have been affected by the outbreak of COVID-19. To support them, the European Commission has released a part of the Economic Recovery Fund for the agricultural sector. For the Netherlands this part amounts to €52.4 million for the years 2021 and 2022. The funds are intended for a resilient, sustainable and digital economic recovery in line with the objectives of the environmental and climate commitments of the European Union and with the new ambitions set out in the European Green Deal.

Investment Scheme

The investment scheme is intended for all farmers. They can apply for a subsidy for investments focused on precision agriculture and smart farming, digitalization, water, drought, salinization, sustainable operations and nature-inclusive agriculture and recycling agriculture. A preliminary list of investments has been prepared for each category.

Opening

The additional CAP/POP3+ 2021/2022 Recovery Fund schemes will be opened once from Monday 6 December 2021 to Monday 31 January 2022. This is a national opening from the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, implemented by the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland.
