As part of Minister Carola Schouten's vision on circular agriculture, the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food has launched the website 'Platform for Transition to Circular Agriculture'. On this website, the transition to circular agriculture can be followed and many experiences are shared.
Good and bad experiences
The transition has many challenges and will not be without problems. The LNV therefore wants to share both positive experiences and the more difficult processes on the platform. With text, images and sound, the stories of livestock farmers, arable farmers, horticulturalists and fishermen will be shared. They tell what they encounter and how they deal with everything that comes their way.
Boer Ruud
A Limburg example of such a story is that of Ruud van Dijk from Oirlo. On the website he shares the successes of his flourishing pig farm in terms of sustainability, but also talks about the uncertainties that come with it. Through the stories of 'farmer Ruud' and others, the platform will be an inspiration and source of information for agricultural entrepreneurs.
Realization plan for circular agriculture
The platform now launched is a follow-up to the Ministry's realization plan 'On the road with new perspective'. This plan was presented to the Lower House in June by Minister Carola Schouten.
