The Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality is opening two subsidy schemes for agricultural entrepreneurs this period. Since June 11 it is possible to apply for the 'Research & Development' (R&D) cooperation projects within the MIT subsidy scheme. As of July 1, poultry farmers can apply for subsidies for barn innovations in the field of particulate matter.

Sustainable animal products

The opening of the R&D collaboration projects took place on June 11, after earlier the knowledge vouchers and feasibility projects within the same MIT scheme were opened. With this part of the MIT, which specifically focuses on the theme of sustainable animal products, the Ministry of LNV wants to stimulate the development of new technology that contributes to the better marketing of sustainable animal products and to the earning model of a livestock farmer.

Sustainable animal products are animal products with lower emissions, which also contribute to better animal health, environmental quality, animal feed manure cycle, more animal welfare or restoration of biodiversity. In addition, only projects that do not have a negative impact on animal health, environmental quality, feed-litter cycle, animal welfare and biodiversity are eligible.

For the newly opened section "R&D collaboration projects", projects must consist of industrial research and / or experimental development, carried out by a partnership of at least 2 SME entrepreneurs. A total of €1.35 million is available for the whole MIT for sustainable animal products - knowledge vouchers, feasibility projects and R&D collaboration projects together. At least € 1 million of this is intended for the R&D collaboration projects. More information about this part of the MIT can be found on the RVO website. All parts are still open until September 10.

Proven innovation for stalls

Poultry farmers can apply from July 1 to invest in proven innovations to reduce particulate matter in the house. For the first opening of this subsidy is a total of € 7.5 million available. The following maximum amounts apply:

  • € 35,000 for each poultry house;
  • € 140,000 for each location of a poultry farm;
  • € 500,000 for each poultry farm

Condition for this scheme is that the poultry farmer ensures at least 45% less particulate matter through the application of new and possibly previously installed techniques. New technology must also be installed within two years of the decision. More information about the content and conditions of the scheme are available on the website of the RVO.
