Today the national campaign #supportyourlocalsNL starts, to support agriculture and horticulture affected by corona. The goal is to make more consumers aware of all the wonderful food that regional producers have to offer and to encourage them to do their shopping at these entrepreneurs.

Short chain initiatives

Under Support Your Locals are several national initiatives that seek to help agriculture and horticulture affected by the corona crisis. On the new website that went live today, existing and new short chain initiatives are bundled. The campaign video below has also been made and will be shown online and on television in the coming weeks. In this way as much visibility as possible should be created for local food, regional food producers and short chain initiatives.

Support Your Locals in Limburg

LLTB welcomes the campaign and has published a list of farm stores and other outlets throughout the province. Léon Faassen, president of LLTB: "I call on all Limburgers: support your farmer and gardener and also buy local." According to him, the situation in which our farmers and gardeners currently find themselves should not be underestimated.

The Province of Limburg also supports this action. Commissioner Hubert Mackus "As a province we join this action by connecting entrepreneurs from our region and stimulate developments. In Limburg 15% of the farmers and growers are already active in the short chain, which makes us leaders in the Netherlands."

Collaborate

The Support Your Locals website offers visitors the opportunity to search for regional initiatives by province. Would you like to share your Limburg initiative on the website? You can register here. Entrepreneurs can also find potential partners to cooperate with here.

Entrepreneurs themselves can also disseminate the campaign to their followers. There is a toolkit available in which all kinds of material is available to share, for example on their own social media.
