The Province of Limburg will open the Young Farmers Grant (JOLA) from December 3, 2018 to February 8, 2019. The aim of this scheme, which is part of the Rural Development Programme (POP3), is to support young farmers after taking over a business, so that they can invest in making their farms more sustainable. In this way they can contribute to improving the environment, climate resilience, animal welfare, public and animal health, landscape, spatial quality or biodiversity.
The investments which qualify for the Young Farmers grant are shown in an investment list and assigned a score. The height of the score determines the height in the ranking. A grant application may relate to a maximum of three investment categories. The amount of the subsidy is 30% of the eligible costs up to a maximum of € 20,000 and the minimum application amount is € 10,000. If the company has more than one head of the company, the amount of the subsidy depends on the number of young farmers in the company or the percentage of equity of the young farmer in the company.
