For the third year in a row, Food100 has announced the list of the most important Dutch food changemakers. An independent jury has chosen 50 change-makers under 30 and 50 change-makers over 30 from over 400 applications. This year we again encountered names from Limburg, even among the eight names that received a special mention.
Limburg food changemakers
A special mention this year was for Jan-Paul Rutten of Gulpener Bierbrouwerij. Food100 writes about him: "He leads one of the most sustainable and circular companies in the Netherlands. He shows that a modern, commercial company can go hand in hand with respect for nature and the landscape. He gives local farmers a chance and is also committed to education and inspiration."
For Frank van Eerd it is already the third time on the list. The initiator of the Bisschopsmolen and Grainlabs was also on it in the previous two years. Jan Klerken of Scelta Mushrooms in Venlo skipped a year, but is included again in the 2019 list.
Food Network Limburg
Food100 aims to bring together established leaders and up-and-coming talent. A similar goal is pursued by Food Network Limburg, where entrepreneurs, decision makers and cross-thinkers from the food industry meet. Wednesday evening, October 10, the second meeting of Food Network Limburg took place in Venlo. During this closed meeting, decision-makers and top people from the food industry in the south of the Netherlands were linked to market players in retail and foodservice by means of a unique and exclusive CEO dinner. The evening was organized by LIOF/ Provincial Council of Limburg.
