The Venlo start-up Grassa has raised two million euros from investors to grow faster. The capital will be used to scale up the innovative plant for biorefining grass and vegetable waste.
Faster processing
The machines will soon be able to convert 4,000 kilos of grass into end products every hour. End products are for example animal feed and protein supplements for concentrates.
Fransen Gerrits strategic partner
One of the investors, compound feed company Fransen Gerrits from Erp in Brabant, sees so much potential in Grassa's technology that it is becoming a strategic partner. The company will help Grassa with the market introduction of oer for cows, pigs and rabbits.
Van Paridon: "Fransen Gerrits is a renowned feed manufacturer: for us, this partnership is important to create a market for our products."
Capital
Grassa raised the capital in a financing round led by Brightlands Venture Partners. LIOF is also contributing again after an earlier investment.
