Natives of livestock farms experience odor nuisance and are concerned about their health. Farmers and citizens from Venray will therefore soon join forces to measure the air quality. This will provide a better understanding of the concentration of pollutants.

Air quality measurements will take place at and around livestock farms, at the homes of local residents and in public spaces. Farmers and citizens receive assistance during the measurements from Venray Municipality, Limburg Province and the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). "The mutual cooperation of all parties is important for a healthy living environment and sustainable livestock farming," says Caroline Baan of the RIVM.

The design of the measurement is now being determined and then 'Farmers and neighbors' will start and run until the beginning of 2021.
