Farmers Accelerator 2020 open for applications

In the spring of 2020, the second edition of the Farmer Accelerator, an entrepreneurial program for farmers, will launch. The New Farmer Family helps farmers go from business idea to prototype and offers coaching from experts inside and outside the industry to increase knowledge and innovation power.

About the Farmer Accelerator

The program brings farmers and non-farmers together. In nine months time, fifteen agricultural entrepreneurs are looking for innovation opportunities within their company. Where is the financial room for your company? What do you want to change? And who do you need to do this? In this entrepreneurial program, you as a farmer will analyze your current business and investigate what room there is. Through online and offline courses you will get all the inspiration and possibilities. You will develop your business idea into a plan for a new business case and build this plan into a prototype. In this you will be guided by coaches and you will work together with experts from the sector and from outside the sector: your New Farmer Family.

For whom

The Farmers Accelerator is a program for all agricultural entrepreneurs with a business and a desire for change. It does not matter if you already know which direction you want to go; the coaching is tailored to your specific situation.

All Dutch farmers, young and old, from all agricultural sectors (horticulture, arable farming, livestock farming, fisheries) are welcome to register. There is room for up to 15 participants.

The program

The New Farmer Accelerator is an individual entrepreneurial program for up to fifteen farmers. As a participant you will be guided for six months by coaches, experts and New Family Members, until your new business model is rock solid. After that you will remain a member of the New Farmer Family for another two years. The organization will do everything to help you and your business case grow. With your membership you keep access to coaches, to the ever innovative content and to new 'family members' who can contribute to your developing business case. You will be invited to the annual New Farmer Family Day and receive discounts on other programs on the platform.

The Farmer Accelerator takes place between January (intake) and September (final pitch) and consists of three parts:

• offline meetings where theory and practice are combined, with lectures from experts and personal guidance (March, April and September)
• online contact with a (financial) coach (from March to September)
• online course materials (lectures specially produced for The New Farmer's Family)
