Zero-emission zones in Maastricht, Venlo and Roermond
The cities of Maastricht, Venlo and Roermond are taking steps toward a cleaner future with zero-emission zones. Maastricht will start zero-emission zones on Jan. 1, 2025. Venlo will follow two years later, on Jan. 1, 2027. Roermond is looking into introducing a zone in 2029. The city council will decide later this year whether the zone will actually happen.
Switching to electric
.In zero emission zones, many diesel-powered vans and trucks are no longer allowed. It is therefore important for business owners operating in the zones to prepare now. Switching to zero-emission transportation, such as electric driving, offers several advantages. Electric vans have lower fuel costs and there will be a subsidy for their purchase this year. In addition, they require less maintenance, leading to lower costs.
Alternatives to electric driving
.In addition to electric driving, you have several alternatives for emission-free transportation. Consider the use of bicycle couriers, hubs, collection platforms or cargobikes. Share mobility also offers opportunities for emission-free transportation.
