Jean Boumans is an energy expert at OML. In a fun and short video, he explains how OML researches future-oriented power supplies.
He takes you to the under construction Bedrijvenpark Zevenellen in the municipality of Leudal. At this site there used to be a coal-fired power plant. That method is no longer used and the plant has disappeared.
A power distribution station of grid operator Enexis is located at the site. Yet because of grid congestion, companies are not getting a connection. OML is working on possible solutions to still be able to provide companies with power, such as:
- Generating solar and wind energy .
- Feasibility studies at various business parks and learning from them .
- Strengthening relationships and collaborations, making more possible than first thought .
