Van Abeelen at Summer Park Festival Test Lab: cooling on solar energy
Zomerparkfest and its partners are offering three entrepreneurs this year the opportunity to test their sustainable or social innovation during Zomerparkfeest TestLab. Today we introduce you to: Van Abeelen.
Van Abeelen develops innovative cooling and air conditioning systems and recently launched a special prototype: the Solarfridge. This mobile cooling container operates completely off-grid on solar power and can stay cool for 48 hours without sunlight - ideal for festivals or areas without a reliable power grid.
During Summer Park Festival, they want to discover how the Solarfridge performs under realistic conditions: with load, intensive use and festival crowds. For visitors, it stays cool as always - but what keeps their drinks cold is anything but standard.
The Solarfridge was developed to cool food and medicine in regions where energy is scarce, such as disaster or war zones. Van Abeelen combines technical expertise with idealism, working toward a more sustainable and fairer world.
The Solarfridge was started from idealism as well as technical expertise - with the aim of reducing food and medicine waste in vulnerable areas.
