Since April 23 you can apply for up to 5,000 euros of subsidy for a zero-emission van. Don't wait too long to submit your application, because by May 6 the subsidy pot was already more than half empty! Applying for the Subsidy Scheme for Emission-Free Commercial Vehicles (SEBA) is possible if you lease or buy a new, fully emission-free van. Apply before entering into a final agreement.
The Zero Emission Commercial Vehicles (SEBA) subsidy scheme runs from April 23 to December 27, 2024. A total of 30 million euros in grant money is available. The subsidy is popular: by May 6, more than 17 million euros in subsidy had already been applied for. So don't wait too long with your application, also because SEBA is here for the last time this year.
7 to 12% of list price
Please note: Apply for a subsidy before entering into a final purchase or lease agreement. With operational leasing, your leasing company can apply for SEBA. The subsidy amounts to a maximum of 5,000 euros per van, up to a maximum percentage of the net list price. The amount of this percentage depends on the size of the company:
- Large company: up to 7% of the net list price for vehicle category N1. This price is exclusive of VAT, including bpm and options that manufacturer or importer applied before registration. Also with a vehicle category N2 with a maximum weight of 4,250 kilos, a maximum of 7% of the sale price without VAT applies.
- Medium-sized enterprise: maximum 10%.
- Small enterprises and non-profit institutions: maximum 12%.
To find out if your organization is large, medium or small, you can use the SME test.

To apply for SEBA, you must meet these requirements:

Needed on your application
.You will need the following information with your application:
- eRecognition level 2+. Don't have eRecognition yet? Then apply for it on the website of eRecognition.
- The KVK or BSN number on which the vehicle is registered. In the case of operational leasing, it is the KVK number on which the provision reservation is registered.
- A digital purchase or financial lease agreement with, for example, the condition precedent: 'Order becomes final after submission of application SEBA'.
More financial benefit: MIA and bpm
For an electric van, even more financial benefits apply. It is possible to apply for the Environmental Investment Allowance (MIA) in addition to the SEBA scheme. This tax benefit is for entrepreneurs who want to invest in environmentally friendly business assets, such as electric vans. With the MIA, you benefit from an investment deduction of up to 45% of the investment amount. This deduction is in addition to the usual investment deduction.
In addition, for an electric delivery van you do not have to pay bpm. Currently, all vans are still exempt from bpm, but this will end in 2025 for diesel, gasoline and hybrid vans. For electric vans, you will still pay no bpm, saving as much as 10,000 to 20,000 euros.
