LLTB, Rabobank, Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo, Land of Makers, LIOF and Maastricht University signed a startup consortium on December 17, 2025. With this collaboration, they combine their networks, expertise and resources to strengthen the startup ecosystem in North Limburg and accelerate innovation in the region to market.
The consortium, under the name BLINC, connects entrepreneurs, innovators, knowledge institutions, experts and government and makes the regional ecosystem visible and easily accessible. Startups and scale-ups will not only be given room to grow, but above all the right guidance, knowledge and collaborations to successfully develop their innovations.
North Limburg stands out for its unique combination of agriculture and horticulture, high-value technology, knowledge and manufacturing industry. Solutions to urgent issues, such as labor shortages, sustainability and the future of food production, arise precisely at the intersection of these sectors.

Understanding the entrepreneurial journey
Visitors at the event also got an open and honest insight into the entrepreneurial journey of AgXeed, FineField and WolkyTolky. These startups worked together with AgroWizard, AVL Motion, S&dB and WorkFlowRobot during the Agritech Masterclass from startup accelerator BLINC to create hands-on innovations for the industry.
During a substantive discussion in a living room setting, moderator Frans Pollux aptly summarized the core: "Concrete solutions from entrepreneurs with their feet in the clay."
Main insights from the innovators:
- Bigger is no longer the goal. Work smarter not harder, using data.
- Labor shortages call for smart innovative solutions, and we have them.
These entrepreneurs are showing guts by investing in innovations that contribute to healthy and sustainable food for tomorrow. In a region where entrepreneurship is deeply rooted, they are jointly building a sustainable, knowledge-driven economy. In doing so, they are strengthening employment and positioning North Limburg as a European hotspot for AgriTech and the manufacturing industry.
