How does digitization help companies produce smarter, safer and more sustainable? Entrepreneurs, production managers and technical professionals from the manufacturing industry discovered the answer during the third edition of Smart Manufacturing Day on Monday, Oct. 20, at the Brightlands Smart Services Campus in Heerlen.
Digitization as an engine for change
The manufacturing industry is facing major changes. Smart technology is making it possible to better control production processes, reduce costs and partially address the shortage of technical staff.
At the same time, digitalization brings new risks. Only with a well-protected infrastructure can companies safely exploit their data and processes.
"Many companies want to digitize, but don't always know how to take the first step, says Walter Pijls, CEO of Brightlands Smart Services Campus. "During Smart Manufacturing Day, we saw that AI is no longer a pipe dream, but a powerful tool that is already creating value today. At Brightlands, we help companies take that step, together with the right knowledge and partners."
