On an inspiring morning, on February 28, over 200 Limburg entrepreneurs gathered at the Rabobank office in Sittard for the Masterclass on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The event was organized by a collaboration of partners including LIOF, Limburg Employers Association, Circular Design Group, Fontys Venlo University of Applied Sciences and Rabobank. The focus was on sustainability efforts and how they can be reported.

After this successful master class, in-depth sessions were organized in Venlo on March 21 and Sittard on March 27, with a total of 160 participants attending.

CSRD Deepening Sessions

During the sessions, valuable insights were shared by several presenters:

  • Dennis de Hoog and Jelle Kerstjens of Volantis provided insight into the investment and financing opportunities around CSRD. They took participants through the ESRS roadmap with concrete examples.
  • Myrthe van der Stelt and Robert Jan Uil of Rabobank shared examples of analysis tools and risk scans related to CSRD in different sectors.
  • Sipke Hengst, Jasper Martin and Frans Beckers (FB Basic/Cirmar) led a session on materials passports and data.
  • Cor Rosbeek and Elian Wilms of Koenen and Co discussed value creation related to financials, customers, society and employees.

Sustainability experts from Rabobank

During the session, Myrthe van der Stelt and Robert Jan Uil, Rabobank's sustainability experts, spoke. They discussed topics such as sustainability strategy, sustainability reporting, and the questions entrepreneurs may receive from customers and suppliers. In addition, they shared how Rabobank can unburden in this area using Rabo Future Fit. They gave examples of analysis tools and risk scans related to CSRD in different sectors.

In short, a successful meeting in which knowledge was shared and entrepreneurs were inspired to further integrate sustainability into their operations.
