Summer park festival TestLab introduces top 3 Innovators

Zomerparkfeest and its partners are offering three entrepreneurs the opportunity to test their sustainable or social innovation during Zomerparkfeest this year. ioThings, SAM Panels and Cyclups won a spot for Zomerparkfeest TestLab after an exciting pitch round. They got to throw themselves to the lions, and have the opportunity to gather feedback from real users. The goal: to further improve their innovation. These innovative entrepreneurs can be found on the festival grounds from August 9 to 11.

Review of pit event

Wednesday, May 29, eight innovative Limburg entrepreneurs took the stage. All with the goal of securing one of the three spots at Zomerparkfeest TestLab. After inspiring pitches it was up to an expert jury consisting of representatives from Zomerparkfeest, LIOF and Ondernemend Venlo to decide on the top 3. All participants were tested on different criteria such as suitability, innovative character and business model.

ioThings, SAM Panels and Cyclups emerged victorious and will secure a spot at Zomerparkfeest TestLab.

ioThings

.

ioThings adopts the latest and best technologies to develop user-friendly, innovative and high-quality Internet of Things products, which can solve real problems. This includes the ioButton, an innovative, zero-maintenance, wireless emergency call system. Push the button and help is on the way! ioThings wants to test to what extent the ioButton is suitable for application at a festival. What use cases are possible and does the technology work within the context of a festival with many visitors?

SAM Panels

.

SAM Panels is a Dutch pioneer in the sustainable manufacturing industry, developing sheet material based on recycled organic residues such as grass, hemp dust, and cow dung (Sustainable Advanced Materials). This material is stronger and offers more design freedom than traditional panel materials, making it suitable for a wide range of products. SAM Panels wants to test whether their biobased sheet material is also suitable for outdoor applications such as signage at a festival.

Cyclups

Cyclups develops straws and cutlery which are made from PLQ (Plantastiq), a bio-based alternative made from residual grain waste. This is completely biodegradable and 100% compostable. The result: no more waste and no more microplastic pollution. On the way to a plastic-free future. Cyclups wants to test how to collect used straws and cutlery to recycle into new products.
