Enterprises large and small have or will face grid congestion. Although network operators are working hard to expand and strengthen our energy network, the problems will not be solved in the coming years. That is why VNO-NCW and MKB-Nederland have started the Net Congestion Business program.
Listening to entrepreneurs
.Program manager Servaas van der Ven: "Entrepreneurs will have to work for themselves in the coming years and we will try to support and involve them as best we can. I strongly believe in giving entrepreneurs room to do business. Finding solutions together with them and not thinking for entrepreneurs. That requires honest and clear communication. About what we do know but also about what we do not yet know. That gives entrepreneurs the clarity to act from their strengths. On the page Entrepreneur's Perspective and during meetings, I talk about what the net congestion problem is like in concrete terms. What is in the pipeline, who is working on what, what is going well and what is going less smoothly."
Reporting bottlenecks to governments and grid operators
.Listening to the ideas, needs and bottlenecks experienced by entrepreneurs in addressing grid congestion is a task of the program. One way we do that is in regional and industry meetings. During these meetings, I notice that entrepreneurs like being able to tell their stories and express their emotions. What we gather from entrepreneurs we communicate to governments and network operators. So that legislation and regulations can be amended or accelerated, and the right resources can be provided to entrepreneurs.
Providing clarity
You want clarity as an entrepreneur so you can make a business case. Providing that clarity is a second important task within our program. On ondernemen.nl/netcongestion we bring together current information and practical solution directions for and by entrepreneurs. Which measures you can take yourself in your company to tackle or stay ahead of grid congestion, and what you can do together with other entrepreneurs on a business park, for example. Entrepreneurs who have already taken action are given the floor to tell us what they are up against and what they have done to solve their problems with grid congestion. In short, a gathering place that offers clarity to entrepreneurs."
