On Monday, May 9, it was Europe Day. That is why LTO Nederland is organising the LTO Europe Week again from 13 to 16 June, following the success of last year. Via interactive webinars, members of LTO Noord, ZLTO and LLTB can discuss current affairs in Brussels with the relevant administrators and politicians.
The decisions of the European institutions have a major impact on the Dutch agricultural and horticultural sector. From climate to nitrogen, from CAP to nitrate: 'Brussels' plays an important role in the development opportunities of the various sectors.
Big ambitions
With the presentation of the European Green Deal and From-Farmer-to-Board strategy, the European Commission has announced big ambitions. Themes such as animal welfare, plant health and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) are high on the agenda and since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine there is (even more) pressure on these dossiers. For example, how does the European Parliament deal with the increased volatility in markets? And will the transition to a more sustainable sector be slowed down or accelerated by current events and who will pay for it?
Webinars
In four webinars on the evenings of 13 to 16 June, the themes of plant health, animal health, CAP and the position of the Netherlands in Brussels will be discussed by relevant policy makers and administrators. So put these dates in your agenda!
