Launch Ambitious SME046 program: strengthening SME innovation and cooperation in the Western Mining Region

Sittard-Geleen, April 10, 2024 - Today marks the launch of the Ambitious SME046 program, an initiative aimed at supporting SME growth and innovation in the 046 region. This program, a collaboration between municipalities Sittard-Geleen, Stein, Beek, Rabobank, LIOF, BSG and Stadslabs Sittard Geleen, is distinguished by a unique approach in which the question and need of the ambitious SME entrepreneur are central.

The program facilitates a community where entrepreneurs meet, collaborate and share knowledge and experiences on innovative projects. This not only strengthens the local economy, but also creates a network of knowledge and cooperation accessible to all ambitious entrepreneurs and knowledge partners in the region. The current SME Green Deal support package that helps entrepreneurs make their businesses future-proof and sustainable thus becomes part of the Ambitious SME046 program.

Part of national SME action plan

The Ambitious SME046 program is part of the new national SME Action Plan, establishing the 046 region as one of six pilot municipalities within this national initiative. This collaboration connects local commitment to SME growth with national ambitions and provides unique opportunities for knowledge exchange and scale-up.

Together we will put our backs into their growth and innovation, for a stronger and more sustainable tomorrow," said Yvonne Salvino-Meijer, alderman of the municipality of Sittard-Geleen.

The Ambitieus MKB046 program offers a comprehensive range of opportunities and benefits for SME entrepreneurs in the Westelijke Mijnstreek aimed at growing and future-proofing their businesses. Within the five core themes of business model, circularity, digitalization, sustainability and personnel, SMEs get access to an extensive knowledge platform, targeted support and personal coaching, exclusive mentoring programs, grant opportunities, participation in exclusive network events, a dynamic network of knowledge partners and numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with like-minded people and fellow entrepreneurs. Participation is completely free of charge for the first year.
