Keyport and Crossroads participate in the Interreg Europe project Regions4Food from the Province of Limburg.
Limburg is participating in the INTERREG Europe project Regions4Food. Keyport and Crossroads have joined Regions4Food with the joint AgriFood action program. The goal is to strengthen the relationship between Digitalization and the Agro and Food value chain. By joining this project we can continue to develop the regions in Limburg into the leading group of European Innovative AgriFood regions.
Digitizing in the AgriFood sector is, on the one hand, about digitizing processes. Think of sensors, robotization, tracking & tracing, precision farming, just-in-time logistics and use of augmented reality. On the other hand, the use of Big Data is 'key' for further knowledge development, market information and management. In practice, it is not yet so simple.
Digital Innovation Hub: Help with digitization
The major European INTERREG Regions4Food (R4F) program has shown that many AgriFood entrepreneurs do not always know where to turn or otherwise experience a barrier to innovation. To break through this, a number of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) have been established in Europe and the Netherlands in recent years. Intended to stimulate and support digitization in the AgriFood sector. This turned out to be a success. Time to share experiences.
Knowledge sharing in Málaga
On November 28, 29 and 30, the seven affiliated EU AgriFood regions met in Málaga. During a three-day AgriFood symposium, current knowledge and latest developments are shared. Lead partner in the Regions4Food program is the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development of Andalusia region in Spain. France, Finland, Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria are also represented. From the Province of Limburg, Hans Corsten is doing the honors. More about his experience and findings next time!
