From January 27, 2026, you can again apply for the AanZET subsidy for the purchase or financial lease of a new zero-emission truck. During the last round, there were already more subsidy applications on the first day than there was budget available. So submit your application on time; from January 21, 2026 you can prepare it in draft.
The grant can be applied for a new zero-emission truck. This can be an electric truck or a hydrogen truck. There are also opportunities for operational leasing. The subsidy amount depends on the vehicle category and the type of company and is a maximum of 115,200 euros. The RFO treats applications in order of receipt per date. The time of submission does not matter.
Budget not complete, application is possible
.The Senate has not yet dealt with the 2026 budget of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management (IenW). The same goes for the budget of the AanZET scheme. Still, you can submit a subsidy application as of Jan. 27. The RFO does evaluate these applications, but expects that decisions and advance payments will not be possible until March or April 2026.
Applications for more trucks possible
.On both the first day and the second day, you can apply for one or two zero-emission trucks. So this is different from 2025, when you could apply for subsidies for a maximum of one zero-emission truck per day. From the third day of the application period, you can apply for the purchase of up to 10 zero-emission trucks per business day.
This is how to prepare in advance
.If you are interested in the grant, prepare now to be able to submit your application on time. For example, you will need a non-final purchase or lease agreement. You can have a clause included in the preliminary agreement, for example: 'order is final after AanZET is granted'. Should your company not receive a grant, this clause allows you to cancel the agreement.
