Want to use digital technologies for innovations of your products, processes or services in your company? INDUSTR_I4.0 offers a grant of up to €50,000 for Innovation projects that help adopt and implement new digital technologies. This is how you make your company smarter and stay connected.

It is a prerequisite that there is innovation within the project. Regular implementations or procurement of software does not fit within the goals of INDUSTR_I4.0.

You can use the grant to develop products, processes or services into a prototype. Or to scale up products, processes or services that have been shown to work on a small scale.

Examples of digital technologies and themes that can be deployed are (not exhaustive):

  • AI, Deep Learning, Data Analytics, Diagnostics, AR/VR, Robotics, Cobots, IoT, Cloud Computing (not being migrations), Edge computing, Industrie 4.0, Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity (not being standard deployments), Digital Twins, Blockchain, Web3, data sharing, Smart Factories, Smart Logistics.

The main features

.
  • Suitable for SMEs active in (manufacturing) industry.
  • You collaborate with a company and knowledge institution from the neighboring country, within the project area.
  • For an Innovation project, you will receive a maximum contribution of up to €50,000.
  • The grant reimburses 50% of the total cost of the project.
  • Ineligible are the labor costs (fixed rates) + 40% mark-up (for other costs).

Main conditions

.
  • As an applicant, you are an SME* and you are based in the program area.
  • You are collaborating with another independent organization from the neighboring country located within the program area (preferably also an SME).
  • The project fits within the goals of the FPF INDUSTR_I4.0.
  • There is an innovation that is new to the organization and innovative for the sector/region in which the project takes place.
  • There is an elaborated business case as part of the project.

Pitch clip and generative AI

For many SME entrepreneurs, it is difficult to write a good project plan. Therefore, within INDUSTR_I4.0, generative AI such as ChatGPT or Co-Pilot may be used. Of course, you remain responsible for the accuracy of the data yourself, so consider generative AI as a junior colleague, not a consultant.

The pitch-clip is a video of maximum 2 minutes in which you introduce yourself, the partners and the project. The pitch-clip is not required, but if available it will be sent along to the expert committee for review of your application.
