The Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), on its website does not yet mention a concrete date when the application period will start, but is counting on the second quarter of 2022. Since the application requires a lot of preparation, it is advisable to start this in good time.

The grant is intended for companies that are having a high-quality manure processing plant built or want to have an existing plant modified. Consider an intermediary company such as a manure hauler or processor. But other companies with a commercial interest in high-quality manure processing also have a chance. To apply for the subsidy, however, they must be registered with RVO as an intermediary company.

The subsidy is between €125,000 to €2,000,000 per company. The reason for the subsidy is that the government wants to make better use of animal manure in the cycle, reducing the use of artificial fertilizer. The fertilizer from high-quality manure processing plants is a good alternative to artificial fertilizer.

'This way we contribute to the climate agreement (less greenhouse gas emissions) and nature (less ammonia emissions). And of course also to the switch to circular agriculture', writes RVO on its website.
