EZK Energy Award and €15,000 for companies leading the way in energy conservation

Companies that have made their energy systems substantially sustainable by 2022 or 2023, or are in the process of doing so, have a chance to win the EZK Energy Award and €15,000. This year there is an award for large companies and one for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Entrepreneurs can register until 5 p.m. Thursday, April 11, at Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO).

Saving Energy

A 4-member jury will evaluate the applications and nominate 3 companies, one of which will win the award. These are companies that have made their energy management substantially more sustainable by 2022 or 2023, or are in the process of doing so. This means that they use demonstrably less fossil fuels by saving energy. And/or by generating additional sustainable energy; not so much from a commercial point of view, but from a desire to become more sustainable.

The jury gives extra points for entrepreneurial and creative use of existing techniques to achieve this. And whether it can inspire other companies to do something similar.

Award and €15,000 tax-free

This year the jury is awarding the prize in 2 categories of companies. One in the large company category (from 50 FTE) and one in the SME category (up to 50 FTE). The winners will receive the award and the cash sum of €15,000 tax-free.

Every entrepreneur, small or large

"As a jury, we look at forward-thinking companies and entrepreneurs who have started to save energy," says jury chair Caroline Kollau (director of Energy Markets, Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate). "Entrepreneurs who can serve as examples for other entrepreneurs we like to put in the spotlight. We invite every entrepreneur - small or large - to apply."

The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate makes the award available. Presenting the award makes visible all the techniques and innovations that companies can use to save energy.

The announcement of the winner and the festive award ceremony will take place on June 27, 2024 during the EZK Energy Event.
