Would you like to implement proven CO2-reducing measures within your industrial business? Are you doing this at your own expense and risk, but are you facing excessive investment costs? And does it take longer than 5 years for these costs to pay for themselves? If so, apply for the Accelerated Climate Investments in Industry (VEKI) grant.

  • Start date: Thursday 7 May 2026 09:00
  • End date: Thursday 28 January 2027 17:00

Who is it for?

This grant is intended for industrial businesses investing in measures that lead to lower CO2 emissions in the Netherlands. You are making this investment within your own company. Without the grant, the payback period would be more than 5 years.

Purpose of the grant

Your project will lead to an absolute reduction in CO2 emissions in the Netherlands by 2030, compared to current CO2 emissions in the industry. CO2 also includes CO2 equivalents. By this we mean the amount of CH4, N₂O, HFCs, PFCs and SF6 that produces the same greenhouse effect as a unit mass of CO2. You can read more about this in Appendix 1 of the VEKI Guide.

What are you eligible for a grant for?

You can apply for a grant for investments in equipment, systems or technologies that fall within one of the following themes:

  • Energy efficiency: you are applying for a grant for investments that reduce energy consumption within your business (or its production process).
  • Circular economy: you reprocess waste products into products, materials or substances for their original purpose or another purpose. By ‘reuse’ we mean any activity in which you reuse products or components. The original purpose of the product remains the same.
  • Infrastructure facilities: your project focuses on infrastructure for waste heat (also known as residual heat) and for hydrogen.
  • Other CO2-reducing measures: your investment must lead to lower emissions of CO2 or other greenhouse gases within your company’s production process.

This grant is for investments in equipment, systems or technologies that are ready for the market. It does not therefore apply to demonstration or pilot projects. For these, you can receive a grant under the Energy and Climate Innovation Demonstration (DEI+) scheme.

How much funding will you receive?

You will receive a maximum of €30 million in funding for your project. There are two exceptions to this:

  1. For specific infrastructure and the storage of hydrogen or waste heat, you will receive a maximum of €25 million for your project.
  2. For public hydrogen infrastructure facilities, you will receive a maximum of €11 million for your project. The costs of your project must not exceed €22 million. We will deduct the operating profit from the costs covered by the grant.
