Akab is a family owned company based in Hoensbroek, specializing in the production of wooden exterior doors in a variety of designs and sizes. Due to the high level of robotization and automation, Akab is able to produce them in a proper and efficient way, with the highest quality. One partner is this automation is Mediatastic. Together stronger

There is a lot happening in the digital field, but often still in traditional ways. Akab and Mediatastic teamed up with IRS Robotics & Affix Engineering to automate the production line at Akab. And in the process also looked at configuration on the front end with a focus on High Mix/Low Volume, where production consists of a wide variety of products (high mix) with small production runs (low volume). And then the next step is to turn the process to servitization: a shift to a more customer-centric service model.
