Sustainable Agriculture & Horticulture

Fertilizer recovery from wastewater

Whether in ornamental, vegetable or agricultural cultivation, you cannot do without nutrients! However, in view of the numerous debates about climate and environmental protection, the question of where and how we can obtain fertilizers for our plants in an environmentally and climate-friendly way, and how we can use valuable nutrients (especially phosphorus) more efficiently and minimize unwanted inputs into nature, is constantly being discussed.

We look forward to fascinating lectures from experts in the field of nutrient recycling. To do this, we meet at the Emscher-Mümünd sewage treatment plant in Dinslaken, where the SUSKULT project has been researching nutrient recovery from wastewater and its use as fertilizer in crop production since 2022.
