Agro food chain meeting at Nijsen Company

After the success of the Agro Food chain meetings in 2024, we are pleased to invite you to the first 'Agro Food chain meeting' in 2025. This meeting is an initiative of Supply Chain Valley, Crossroads Limburg, Keyport, AgroLeeft and Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo.

We organize such a meeting 4 times a year. These are intended for entrepreneurs in the Agro Food chain, from primary sector to consumer. We challenge you to think 'bigger' and exchange ideas. In this way we create opportunities for crossovers between sectors and entrepreneurs can learn about the latest developments. We do this by visiting an entrepreneur in the Agro Food chain. The entrepreneur explains his business model and all its challenges. The complete chain "from farm to fork" is discussed and above all, how do we make it circular! Of course this includes an extensive tour of the company.

1st Agro Food chain meeting at Nijsen Company: Nijsen completes the circle!

Nijsen, founded in 1938, is a family business in Veulen, near Venray. In 1989 they started processing former waste streams into animal feed. At Nijsen they work daily with over 100 colleagues to make food production more sustainable. Nijsen turns waste streams from the food industry back into food via its own short chains: Food for Feed for Food. Every year Nijsen returns more than 100,000 tons of food back into the food cycle as high-quality and well-utilized pig or Kipster chicken feed.

During the visit, they will talk about the development of the company to what it is today, but also reflect on the challenges, as there are throughout the chain: sustainability/CSRD reporting, digitization, robotization/labor, and so on. There will also be room for questions from visitors. Furthermore, there will be a tour of the company and of course we will close with soup and a sandwich!
